What’s #GOALSWEEK about?
Ok, you probably have no idea what i’m talking about. For my spanish readers and viewers, you probably already now if you saw my hello 2017 video on 8va Avenida’s channel where i’m announcing and explaining the challenge.
#GOALSWEEK is a entire week of videos and blogposts with freebies and diys focus on achieving our goals this year. You will have all the information: tips & hacks about achieving your goals. Day 4: How to change your habits?
We all want to change some things that aren’t good when we’re trying to change our lifestyle. Change of habits is a goal. And you need to put a lot of work on it. You may need to make sacrifices with your time and other activities you do. Because change your habits requires time, discipline, willpower and persistence.
So, now…How to do it?
I’m going to share with you the tips I’ll be using to change my habits.
- Analyze what are you doing wrong: Find the main problem that’s getting you to always have that bad habit. Try to do it in a different way to find the problem and the solution.
- Settle a new way to correct that habit: Now that you know what you were doing wrong, make it right. Try other alternatives until you find which way it’s the best for you.
- Don’t wait for motivation: Motivation doesn’t come on its own. You motivate yourself by just doing it. Don’t procrastinate it anymore, just take action and start.
- Take baby steps: Don’t get crazy. Start with 2 or 3 days a week, then 4-5 day, then do it every day. If you keep your own rhythm, your body and mind will get use to it and it becomes automatic.
- Find a partner in crime: If you know someone with your same struggle, talk to them and explain the your plan. Make them part of your habit plan to keep each others back. Constantly talk them about your progress.
- It’s OK to skip one day: It’s been proven that skipping one day doesn’t makes a difference because your body will get use to the habit your working on. The important thing it’s not to skip days frequently.
- Use the reminders of your phone: To prevent missing days, use the reminders or alarms on your phone. Sometimes we need something that reminds us our goal or our activity of the day in those days we’re to busy.
- Track your habits: this will keep your motivation high and it will be a reminder, too. If you use the habit tracker I made, put it somewhere you can see it everyday. Track your progress until you don’t need it anymore.
So, those are all the tips I have for you. Definitely I will be using my habit tracker next to my mirror to see it everyday. Now, we just have to start. Do not procrastinate it anymore. Just follow these steps and you will get a better lifestyle.
